it usually starts with a place.
it never ends there.
Peaks & Roads is a long-term travel project.
It’s built slowly. Across different trips, seasons, and phases of life.
Some places we’ve seen once. Others we keep returning to.
It’s a collection that grows over time.
routes as they happened
Routes come from one trip. They’re shaped by the time we had and the choices we made. Some things worked. Some didn’t. They stay as they were. A snapshot of that moment.
→ explore routes
countries shaped over time
Country pages don’t come from one trip. They’re built over time, through returning. Each visit adds another layer. Sometimes confirming things. Sometimes changing them completely.
→ explore countries
take what works
Sometimes it helps to see how someone else moved through a place.
Not to follow it exactly. Just to get a sense of what could work.
Take what feels right.
Leave the rest.
how we travel
budget conscious. but we don’t cut the good parts
we move often, but are never in a rush
we take good routes over efficient ones
we explore without a fixed plan
food matters. a lot.
we love flexible travel. different styles, always light
we look for experiences that feel a bit different
the people we meet shape the trip
why we built this
Most trips don’t unfold the way you expect. That’s usually where they get interesting.
A lot of travel content shows the polished version. We’re more interested in everything around it. The in-between moments. Plans changing. Coming back and seeing a place differently.
This exists for people who don’t need perfect trips.
Just real ones that stay with you.
Peaks & Roads will keep changing.
More countries. More routes. A clearer understanding over time.
Everything here started with a trip we actually took.
And the decision to pay attention while we were there.
Use it however it helps.
Then go make your own version of it.
